Stuart and Teresa McKnight

Meet Our Families: Stuart & Teresa McKnight

Stuart & Teresa McKnight‘s involvement began as supportive parents in their son’s business endeavour, allowing Scott to raise 50 pigs in the backyard of their small acreage in Vernon the beginning days of his first business.

Having lived in Scotland, Stuart and Teresa have always valued good food and hospitality, so when Yankee Flats Meats was born their roles naturally came to be.

Stuart has a background in church ministry and business, recently earning his Masters in Philosophical Theology. He is the friendly face that welcomes you to our Vernon storefront and he has quickly settled into the Vernon community, building relationships with all who visit. In the shop, he provides an old school feel to our fine meats and farm shop that is nostalgic and comforting.

Teresa is not only the joyful and warm voice answering our calls and booking in farmers for custom processing, but she is the creative mind and talent behind our beautiful tallow balms, tallow soaps and beeswax candles.

In 2008, she studied and received her certification in esthetics, as well as began making cold process soap. Since, she has continued a life long journey learning health and well-being of the mind, body, and soul.

The nourishing and healing tallow skin care products can be found in store only at our Vernon storefront downtown.
