Scott & Lydia McKnight are one of the three families behind Yankee Flats Meats.
Starting out raising and processing pigs on their own with their business Beast & Block in Vernon, they realized the greater need of processing services for farmers, to support the community’s access to healthy and locally raised meats.
Scott decided to combine his carpentry tools with butchering knives, as he built the Yankee Flats facility with the team and then went into meat processing full time.
Now, at Yankee Flats Meats, you can find Scott managing and bringing energy to the kill and cut floor. While Lydia enjoys a busy maternity leave.. managing social media, marketing (the voice behind your newsletters!) and supporting our Vernon retail location.
Lydia & Scott’s eight month old son, is a daily source of joy and motivation for them and their adventure!
