Position: Head Cut Floor Manager & Cutter
Location: Yankee Flats Meats – Salmon Arm, BC
Type: Full-Time | Wage: $30–$35/hr (based on qualifications)

Yankee Flats Meats is a growing, values-driven slaughterhouse and meat processing facility dedicated to high standards, efficiency, and quality. We’re proud to work closely with local farmers and customers to deliver exceptional products.

About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing cut floor operations. You’ll manage a team of 4–6 cutters and 2–4 wrappers, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality processing. You will work alongside your team and be expected to personally process a minimum of 200 lbs/hour (hanging weight). While leading daily operations, you’ll collaborate closely with the Facility Manager to keep production on track and maintain our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Break down full carcasses with precision and speed
  • Maintain a personal processing rate of at least 200 lbs/hour (hanging weight)
  • Lead by example to meet and exceed team targets
  • Train and mentor staff to improve skill and efficiency
  • Oversee cut floor workflow, sanitation, and safety compliance
  • Maintain quality control across all products
  • Communicate effectively with the Facility Manager to coordinate operations
  • Identify and implement process improvements

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven meat cutting and carcass breakdown experience (beef, pork, lamb, poultry)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Fast, efficient, and precise cutting skills

Compensation
$30–$35/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
